Over the past two months, the Digital Switchover Taskforce has been out in local communities across regional Queensland attending major community events to raise awareness of the upcoming switch from analog to digital-only free-to air TV on 6 December.kingray-show.jpg
Taskforce attended FarmFest in Toowoomba, as well as shows in Emerald, Mackay, Townsville and Cairns. The events gave the community an opportunity to find out more about the digital switchover, ask specific questions and see how to use a set-top box and the VAST service. Digital Freddy, the digital switchover mascot, was also on hand to say “hello”.
The Taskforce has also attended various multicultural events throughout regional Queensland including the Childers Festival of Cultures and the Toowoomba Languages and Cultural Festival. These were a great opportunity to communicate face-to-face with multicultural communities and provide information about the switch to digital-only TV.
